Ingredients
- 3 lbs ripe pears, peeled, cored, and diced (about 5 large pears)
- 3-4 tbsp honey, to taste
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- ¼ tsp ground ginger
- ¼ tsp salt
- Pinch of ground nutmeg, freshly grated
- pinch of ground cloves
Instructions
- Combine the diced pear, honey, lemon juice, cinnamon, ginger, clove, and nutmeg together in a saucepan over medium-high heat until boiling.
- Reduce heat, cover partially with a lid, and cook, stirring often, for 50-60 minutes.
- Place into a blender (or use a hand immersion blender) and blend until smooth and creamy. Pour into a canning jar, seal, and refrigerator until ready to use.
- Side Note: If your pear butter is too runny, feel free to simmer the mixture longer on the stove to allow it to reduce more.
