Ingredients

Pizza Crust Dough
  • 2¼ teaspoons (1 packet) active dry yeast
  • ¾ cup warm water, 110°F-115°F
  • 2 cups bread flour, plus extra for flouring rolling surface
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, plus 1 teaspoon for brushing bowl for dough
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 teaspoons granulated sugar
Garlic Butter
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, add yeast and water. Stir and set aside until foamy (10 minutes).
  2. In a large bowl, add flour, oil, salt, sugar, and the yeast mixture. Mix with a wooden spoon and then your hands until the dough comes together. If the dough is too dry, add water (1 tablespoon at a time). If the dough is too sticky, add more flour (1 tablespoon at a time).
  3. After the dough has been thoroughly mixed, knead it by hand for 5-10 minutes.
  4. Brush a bowl with olive oil. Add the dough to the bowl. Cover and set in a warm area to rise until doubled (about 30 minutes).
  5. When ready, preheat the oven to 475°F.
  6. Turn the dough out onto a well-floured surface. Roll out the dough into a 10-12 inch circle, about ¼-inch thick and place onto a 12" (or larger) pizza pan.
  7. Add toppings and bake 15-18 minutes, or until golden brown.
  8. Near the end of the baking time, make the garlic butter. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter. Mix in the salt and garlic powder.
  9. After the pizza has baked, immediately brush the garlic butter on the crust.
  10. Let the pizza rest for about 5 minutes before cutting and serving.
