Easy Sausage Rolls

Report
Easy Sausage Rolls are made by wrapping seasoned sausage meat in puff pastry strips, then baking until golden and cooked through. This recipe uses store-bought puff pastry and four sausages to make individual rolls. The pastry is folded, sealed with a fork, sliced into bite-sized pieces, and brushed with egg for a shiny crust. The result is a crispy pastry exterior with a juicy, flavorful filling, perfect as snacks, appetizers, or casual meals.

Description

Easy Sausage Rolls begin by slicing puff pastry into four long strips. Sausage meat is removed from casing and placed on each strip before folding the pastry and sealing the edges with fork crimps. Each strip is then cut into smaller pieces. After arranging on baking trays, the rolls are brushed with beaten egg to promote browning and gloss during oven baking at 180°C (350°F) for 25 minutes. The sausage cooks through while the pastry puffs and crisps, creating a handheld savory treat. This straightforward preparation leverages store-bought pastry for convenience but can be made with homemade dough if preferred.

The recipe allows flexibility in the type of sausage used, including variations with herbs, seasoning, or even vegetarian options. Chutney can be spread on the pastry for added flavor, and sesame seeds can be sprinkled on top before baking to add texture and visual appeal. Not overfilling the pastry ensures easy sealing and baking evenly cooked rolls.
