Ingredients

  • ⅓ cup coconut aminos
  • ¾ cup chicken broth
  • 2 tsp ginger fresh
  • 2 tsp garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp tapioca flour or cornstarch
  • ¼ tsp lemon juice optional
  • 1 tsp sesame oil optional
  • 1 tsp chili paste optional
  • green onions for garnish

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. First, add all ingredients to a skillet over low medium heat.
  2. Simmer on low medium heat for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent burning.
  3. Once sauce has slightly thickened and reached desired consistency, remove from heat.
  4. Finally, either use immediately or store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 7 days.
  5. Garnish with chopped green onions if desired.

Notes

  • To thicken the sauce more, whisk an additional tablespoon of tapioca flour with water and stir it in while cooking.
  • Coconut aminos provide a soy-free, gluten-free alternative to soy sauce, but soy sauce can be used if preferred.
  • Cornstarch or arrowroot powder can replace tapioca flour as the thickener.
  • Sesame oil and chili paste are optional but add extra flavor and heat.
  • Lemon juice adds a tart brightness but can be omitted.
  • The sauce can be garnished with chopped green onions if served immediately.
  • Use within 7 days when stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
  • This sauce also works well as a marinade for proteins or vegetables.
  • Any sugars listed in nutrition facts are natural, not added sugars.
