Easy Tzatziki Sauce
Easy Tzatziki Sauce blends plain Greek yogurt with minced garlic, fresh dill, lemon juice, olive oil, and optional diced cucumber for a cool, creamy, and slightly tangy sauce. This sauce carries a fresh herbal note and light texture, making it a versatile condiment for pita pockets or vegetables.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup yogurt plain, Greek
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon dill minced fresh
- 1 clove garlic minced
- 1/2 cucumber diced (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the tzaziki sauce by combining all ingredients in a small bowl. Stir until well combined. Set aside.
- Open up each of the pita pocket breads so that it can be stuffed full of goodness. Careful not to tear. Stuff full of the vegetable fillings, spread a little tzaziki sauce in there for flavor.
Notes
- Tzatziki sauce is a Greek yogurt and cucumber dip with variations across Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisines.
- Mint or parsley can substitute for dill depending on regional preferences.
- The sauce works well as a dip or a condiment for gyros, pita breads, and vegetable plates.
- Be careful not to tear pita pockets during stuffing to hold fillings properly.
