Ingredients

  • 4 lices sandwich bread
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon coarse ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Cut a 2-inch circle out of the middle of the slices of bread with a biscuit or cookie cutter.
  2. Add butter to a large skillet on medium-high heat.
  3. Add bread and cook for 2 minutes.
  4. Break an egg into each hole and cook for 2 minutes.
  5. Flip bread carefully, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 1 more minute.
