Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1 large onion diced
  • 1 red bell pepper diced
  • 1/2 pound lean ground beef
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon sweet paprika
  • 2 medium tomatoes diced
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons minced parsley
  • 1/4 cup chopped green olives
  • 1 large egg beaten for egg wash

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine olive oil, water, and salt. Gradually add flour, mixing until a dough forms.
  2. Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead until smooth. Let rest for 30 minutes.
  3. In a skillet, sauté onion and bell pepper until soft.
  4. Add ground beef, salt, pepper, and paprika. Cook until beef is browned.
  5. Stir in tomatoes and garlic, cooking until thickened.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in olives and parsley.
  7. Divide dough into pieces, roll out, and fill with beef mixture.
  8. Fold dough over filling, seal edges, and brush with egg wash.
  9. Bake at 400°F for 20 minutes or until golden.
