A recipe for a French Toast Bagel! Bagel halves are soaked briefly on each side in a cinnamon vanilla custard, then fried in a skillet until golden brown.

Ingredients
French Toast Bagel:
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup (120 milliliters) heavy cream
- 1/2 cup (120 milliliters) milk
- 2 tablespoons (25 grams) granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Pinch salt
- 1/2 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1/2 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 4 bagels halved
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt.
- In a skillet, melt the butter and oil over medium low heat.
- Soak each bagel half in the egg mixture for at least one minute per side.
- Place the soaked bagel half in the heated skillet and cook until golden, about 2 minutes.
- Flip and cook the other side for another 1-2 minutes. Repeat with remaining bagels.
- Serve the French Toast Bagels hot with desired toppings.
