Ingredients

  • 4 medium Granny Smith apples about 1 ½ lbs
  • ¼ cup butter salted
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoons cinnamon

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Peel* and core the apples. Slice into ½-inch thick slices.
  2. To a large skillet, add butter, brown sugar, white sugar, and cinnamon. Melt over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the apples as soon as the butter is melted and cook until they are tender and the sauce has thickened, stirring occasionally, about 12-15 minutes.
  4. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Peeling is optional, we prefer peeled apples.
  • If you have it, add a couple of tablespoons of bacon grease to the butter.
  • If the sauce is slow to thicken, turn the heat up to high for the last few minutes of cooking, stirring the apples frequently.
