Frozen Hot Chocolate

Frozen Hot Chocolate is a refreshing icy cold version of hot chocolate! It's made with real melted chocolate and blended into a refreshing drink, topped with whipped cream.

Ingredients

  • 4 ounces high quality semi-sweet chocolate
  • 2 1/2 Tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • pinch salt
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 - 2 cups Ice cubes
  • Whipped Cream for topping, optional

Instructions

  1. Melt chocolate: Chop the chocolate into small pieces and melt in themicrowave on half power, stirring every 20 seconds, until melted.
  2. Stir in sugar, coco powder, and salt. Slowly stir in ½ cup milk, stirring until smooth.
  3. Blend: Add mixture to blender with remaining 1 cup milk and 1 cup of ice. Blend well until smooth. Add more ice if you want it thicker.
  4. Serve immediately, topped with whipped cream.

Notes

  • Chocolate: I use Bakers or Ghriardelli baking bars, or a 12 oz package of high quality chocolate chips, like Ghriradelli or Guittard.
