Garlic Almond Green Beans

Ingredients

  • 1 lb green beans I recommend Haricot Verts
  • 4 tablespoon sliced almonds optional
  • ½ c water
  • 3 cloves garlic thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon vegan or regular butter
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. This step is optional. Preheat the oven to 375 F. Place almonds on a baking tray and roast them for about 5 minutes until slightly brown on the sides.
  2. Meanwhile, place beans in a large pan, add water and salt and cook on a medium-low heat 10-15 minutes or until desired tenderness.* (See the notes)
  3. When all water evaporates, in the same pan melt vegan butter, add sliced garlic and sauté for 1 more minute. Remove from the heat.
  4. Sprinkle with toasted almonds and serve.

Notes

  • Water
  • If beans are already nice and tender but there's still some water in a pan, simply drain it and proceed to the next step.
