Ingredients
- ½ cup onion chopped or minced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 pound cremini or button mushrooms
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley optional
- ½ teaspoon chili flakes optional
- salt and pepper to taste
- Juice of 1/4th lemon
Instructions
- In a large pan over medium-high heat, add the onion, butter, and olive oil. Cook onion down for 3-4 minutes or until softened.
- Add the mushrooms and cook for 3-4 minutes then add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds to 1 minute or until fragrant. Stir in parsley, chili flakes, and salt & pepper, to taste.
- Cook for about 2 minutes or until the liquid reduces down a bit. Finish with a drizzle of lemon juice and garnish with more parsley if desired; serve immediately.

Notes
- Storing leftovers: Place mushrooms in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 5 days.
- Reheating. Warm leftover mushrooms in a skillet on the stovetop over medium-low heat or in the microwave.
- Freezing. Place in an airtight freezer-safe storage container and freeze for up to 3 months. Let thaw overnight in the refrigerator or for about an hour at room temperature before reheating.
