This Garlic Cheese Ball recipe with Italian seasoning is a simple appetizer with 10 minutes prep time. It pairs well with crackers or a crusty Italian bread on a charcuterie board.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan Cheese freshly shredded
  • 1/4 cup Italian shredded cheese (or mozzarella cheese)
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 to 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. In a medium bowl, use a hand mixer to mix the cream cheese until it is smooth. Add the garlic, sour cream, cheeses and Italian seasoning. Mix until well combined. Chill for 1-2 hours. 8 ounces cream cheese, 1 teaspoon minced garlic, 1/4 cup sour cream, 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, 1/4 cup Italian shredded cheese, 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  2. Place the chopped nuts on a plate. Form the cheese mixture into a ball, then roll the ball in the chopped pecans until the outside of the cheese ball is completely covered. 1/2 to 1 cup chopped walnuts
  3. Cover with plastic wrap and store in the refrigerator until serving.
  4. Serve with crackers or veggies such as celery,

Notes

  • I've not tried this recipe using reduced fat cream cheese or sour cream. You could definitely make this substitute, but it will make the cheese ball softer. I recommend using full fat.
