Ingredients

  • 1 pound broccolini
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce more to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Rinse broccolini and shake dry. Trim the tips of the broccolini.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large pan over medium high heat. Add broccolini and 2 tablespoons water, stir fry until tender crisp, about 6-8 minutes.
  3. Move the broccolini to one side of the pan and in the center add butter, garlic, soy sauce, & chili flakes if using. Cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds then mix together with broccolini.
  4. Season with salt & pepper to taste and serve.

Notes

  • Soy sauce can be omitted if desired, extra salt may be needed.
  • Regular broccoli can be used in place of broccolini.
  • Garlic can burn if cooked at a high temperature for too long. It is added at the end and cooked just until fragrant.
  • Chili flakes can be replaced with chili paste (such as sambal oelek). If you don't like heat, the chili flakes can be left out.
