Ingredients

  • 15 ounces whole milk ricotta cheese
  • 8 ounces mascarpone cheese
  • ¾ cup powdered sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 2 Tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste
  • 1 ¼ cup mini chocolate chips more for topping
  • cannoli chips for serving

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients except the mini chocolate chips in a mixing bowl using a hand mixer or whisk. If using a hand mixer, use low speed and either way, do not overmix, or you will risk the mascarpone becoming grainy.
  2. Fold in chocolate chips using a spatula (measure these with your heart, really). Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with additional chips and a sprinkle of cinnamon as desired. Serve with your favorite dippers, and enjoy!
  3. If making ahead of time (or with leftovers), store in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
