Instructions

  1. First, preheat your oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Prepare the beef back ribs by removing any excess fat and membrane from the bone side. Pat the ribs dry with paper towels.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil and all seasonings to create a flavorful rub.
  4. Rub the spice mixture all over the beef back ribs, ensuring they are evenly coated.
  5. Place the seasoned ribs on a baking sheet or in a roasting pan, bone-side down.
  6. Cover the pan with aluminum foil, sealing it tightly. This will help keep the ribs moist during the cooking process.
  7. Bake the ribs for 2.5 to 3 hours.
  8. Then, remove the foil and check the ribs. They should be very tender and pull away from the bone easily.
  9. If you prefer a charred exterior, brush the ribs with BBQ sauce and broil for 3 to 5 minutes. This step is optional.
  10. Lastly, allow the beef back ribs to rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • The spice rub can be customized.
  • If buying frozen beef back ribs, thaw them completely before making this recipe.
  • The ribs are done when they are very tender.  They should easily pull away from the bone.
  • The optional broiling step adds a charred texture and deeper flavor.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 5 days.
