Ghirardelli Chocolate Sauce Recipe

Rich and decadent chocolate sauce made with Ghirardelli chocolate. Enjoy over ice cream, use as a dipping sauce or make a chocolate milkshake.

Ingredients

  • 1 4- ounce bar Ghirardelli 60% bittersweet cocoa
  • 4 tablespoons butter diced
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar or sugar alternative for sugar free option
  • ½ cup water
  • ¼ cup light corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. 1.  Break chocolate bar into ½ inch pieces
  2. 2. In a medium size saucepan over medium heat, add chocolate pieces, butter, sugar, water, and corn syrup (if using).
  3. 3.  Stir chocolate mix until all the ingredients are incorporated and the chocolate has melted and has heated to a soft boil.
  4. 4.   Lower the heat and simmer for 10 minutes or until thickened (it will continue to thicken when it cools). 
  5. 5.    Remove chocolate sauce from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  6. 6.  Cool before placing in a jar.
  7. 7.   Use right away or store in the refrigerator in an air tighter container.

Notes

  • Recipe from Ghirardelli.
  • To lower the carbs use a sugar free alternative like allulose in place of granulated sugar.
  • Add a pinch salt if your butter is unsalted to enhance the flavor.
