Gin Mojito
A Gin Mojito combines fresh mint with sugar, lime juice, and gin, topped off with club soda for a refreshing, bubbly cocktail. The muddled mint releases aromatic oils that infuse the drink with cool herbaceous notes. Balancing sweet, tart, and botanical flavors, this drink is lively and suitable for casual serving.
Ingredients
- 10 mint plus more for garnishing, leaves
- 1 tablespoon raw sugar or regular white sugar
- 1 oz lime juice
- 2 oz gin
- 2-4 oz club soda (less soda=stronger flavored drink, more soda=lighter drink)
Instructions
- Add mint leaves and sugar to a tall glass. Using a cocktail spoon or muddler, muddle (mash) the leaves gently into the sugar.
- Add the gin and stir to dissolve the sugar. Add fresh lime juice and stir once more.
- Fill your glass with ice and lime wheels for garnish if you like. Top your glass with club soda or sparkling water until full (approximately 2-4 oz) and give one more gentle stir.
- Finish by garnishing with a big sprig of mint, a straw and a lime wedge or wheel and serve right away.
Notes
- Use cold ingredients to keep the cocktail chilled with minimal dilution from ice melting.
- Muddle mint gently to bruise leaves and release oils without breaking them into small pieces.
- Adjust club soda amount to your taste, less for a stronger drink, more for a lighter one.
- Multiply ingredient quantities to make multiple servings efficiently.
