Ingredients

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground cloves
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground allspice
  • 2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon molasses
  • 1¾ cup water
  • 1½ cup milk

Instructions

  1. Add the rolled oats, maple syrup, vanilla, ground ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, allspice, brown sugar, molasses, and water to a saucepan.
  2. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat. Simmer for 3 to 4 minutes while stirring frequently.
  3. Lower the heat and stir in the milk.
  4. Continue to stir and simmer on low for another 4 to 5 minutes or until the oatmeal has thickened to your liking.
  5. Serve as is or with your topping of choice.
