Gingerbread Waffles

These gingerbread waffles are the perfect winter breakfast treat. Filled with warm spices and a touch of molasses. You'll love waking up to these on the table!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose baking mix Bisquick
  • ⅓ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground cloves
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup milk
  • ⅓ cup molasses
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2 large egg whites

Instructions

  1. Whisk together baking mix, brown sugar, cornstarch, and spices in a medium bowl.
  2. Add milk, molasses, and melted butter to dry ingredients and gently mix until just combined.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk egg whites. Whisk until frothy, about 2 minutes.
  4. Gently fold in egg whites to batter. Stir until just combined. Batter will be slightly lumpy.
  5. Let the batter rest for 10 minutes whole you heat your waffle iron.
  6. Heat the waffle iron and once fully heated, spray with nonstick cooking spray.
  7. Add about 3/4 cup of batter per waffle to the make and cook according to manufacturer instructions for the waffle iron.
  8. This will make about four large 7-inch waffles.
  9. Serve with maply syrup, whipped cream, or powdered sugar.
