Glazed Walnut Butter Cake
Glazed Walnut Butter Cake is a moist, buttery bundt cake featuring chopped walnuts mixed into a sweet batter. The cake is baked until golden and finished with a smooth vanilla glaze mixed with powdered sugar, melted butter, and milk. Additional walnuts sprinkled on top add a crunchy contrast to the tender crumb of the cake.
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter softened
- 2 ½ cups granulated sugar
- 4 egg
- 3 cups all-purpose flour sifted
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 cup milk
- ½ cup walnuts chopped
Glaze:
- ¼ cup butter melted
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 tablespoons milk
- ½ cup walnuts chopped, for topping
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Generously grease and flour a bundt pan. (can also use a 9x13)
- In a large mixing bowl, using a hand or stand mixer, whisk the 1 cup softened butter and 2 ½ cups granulated sugar until light and creamy. Add the 4 eggs one at a time mixing well between each egg.
- Mix the 3 cups sifted all-purpose flour and 2 teaspoons baking powder together. Add the flour mixture and 1 cup milk to the butter mixture alternating the flour and milk as you mix. Fold in ½ cup chopped walnuts.
- Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan. Bake for 55-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Remove from oven and let cool.
- make the glaze by whisking together the ¼ cup melted butter, 2 cups powdered sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla, and 2 tablespoons milk. Drizzle on top of cooled cake and top with ½ cup chopped walnuts for topping.
