Ingredients

Asphalt Pie
  • 24 Oreo cookies crushed
  • ¼ cup butter melted
  • 1.5 quarts Ice cream mint chocolate chip
Salted Caramel Topping
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons butter sliced
  • ¼ cup heavy whipping cream
  • ½ teaspoon salt sea salt
Whipped Cream
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • ½ cup powdered sugar

  1. In a small bowl, mix crushed cookies and melted butter. Stir until combined.
  2. Press the crust into the bottom of a 9-inch pie plate.
  3. Fill with ice cream. Cover and freeze for at least 3 hours before serving.
Salted Caramel Topping
  1. Heat the sugar in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly and scraping the bottom, until the sugar has melted into an amber liquid, about 5 minuites.
  2. Once the sugar has melted, add the butter. Once the butter is melted, add the cream. Boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat and stir in sea salt.
Whipped Cream
  1. Using an electric mixer, beat cream, and powdered sugar until they form stiff peaks.
  2. Remove the pie from the freezer. Drizzle caramel topping over each slice and add whipped cream.

Notes

  • Increasing ice cream to double the amount creates a taller, more impressive pie.
  • Freeze the pie well for at least 3 hours to ensure the ice cream is firm before adding toppings.
  • Prepare the caramel sauce carefully, stirring the sugar constantly to avoid burning and achieve the correct amber color.
  • Whip the cream to stiff peaks for the best whipped cream texture and appearance.
