Greek Flank Steak Crock Pot
Greek Flank Steak Crock Pot uses seasoned flank steak slow-cooked with onions and a blend of garlic, oregano, and optional cayenne in beef broth. The long, slow cooking tenderizes the steak and infuses it with herbal, savory flavors, making it easy to slice thinly and serve with the flavorful onions and pan gravy.
Ingredients
- 1 onion chopped, large
- 2 tablespoons canola oil
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 tablespoon oregano dried
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 flank steak 1 1/4 lb, cut in half
- 1 cup beef broth low-sodium
- cayenne pepper optional, dash
Instructions
- Place onion in a 5 - 7 quart slow cooker.
- Stir together oil, garlic, oregano, salt, pepper and cayenne pepper (optional).
- Rub mixture over steaks and place on onions in the slow cooker.
- Add broth, cover and cook on low 8 hours.
- Cut steak across the grain into thin slices (reserve half steak for another meal)
- Serve remaining steak with onions and gravy from slow cooker.
Notes
- To thicken the cooking broth, simmer 1 cup of the broth with 1 tablespoon arrowroot, cornstarch, or flour over medium heat until slightly thickened.
