Ingredients

  • 1 1 bag green tea
  • 2 2 tablespoons granulated sugar honey, or sweetener (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 1/2 cup boiling water
  • 1/4 1/4 cup lemon juice two lemons
  • 2 2 tablespoons lemon zest two lemons
  • 8 8 ounces cold water
  • ice
  • lemon slices optional

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Add green tea bag and sugar to boiling water. Turn off heat and allow to steep for about 3 minutes to allow sugar to dissolve. Remove tea bag.
  2. Stir in juice and zest of lemons and cold water.
  3. Pour into large glass filled with ice. Garnish with lemon slices (optional)
  4. Variation:
  5. If you have a single-serve, Keurig style coffee maker, simply add your sugar to a large, empty heat-safe glass. Then, place your green tea bag into the area of your machine where a k-cup is placed. Select the smaller brewing size for your coffee cup and brew.
  6. Add lemon juice and zest to your brewed green tea and stir to combine. Add cold water, ice, and stir.

Notes

  • If you prefer to not use sugar, simply follow the instructions of making the green tea lemonade but omit the sugar. Then, add your favorite sugar substitute to taste once made.
