Grilled Chicken Thighs with White BBQ Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 cups mayonnaise
  • 1/4-1/2 cup apple cider vinegar **see notes
  • 3/4 tablespoon Worcestershire
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons minced garlic 
  • 1/2 tablespoon salt
  • 1/2 tablespoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (or more to taste)
  • 4 chicken thighs (skin on, bone in)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt

Instructions

For the White BBQ Sauce
    Cup of Yum
  1. In a medium bowl, stir together the mayonnaise and vinegar (**see notes) until smooth.
  2. Mix in the remaining sauce ingredients, stirring well.
  3. Cover and refrigerate for at least a half an hour.
For the Chicken Thighs
  1. Sprinkle Chicken thighs with salt, pepper and garlic.
  2. Place the chicken thighs skin side down on a preheated grill and cook for 15 minutes. Turn the thighs and cook for an additional 10 minutes** or until the chicken has an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit. 
  3. **Baste with white BBQ sauce during the last 2 minutes of grilling.
  4. Allow the chicken to rest for 2-3 minutes, then serve with additional barbecue sauce on the side.

Notes

  • **This is a very vinegary sauce. We sometimes use less vinegar if we feel like cutting down on that flavor. Use anywhere between 1/4- 1/2 cup for this recipe. Adjust to the way you want it to taste! Obviously the more vinegar you use, the runnier the sauce will be.
