Ingredients
- 2 Tablespoon olive oil
- 1 Tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- A pinch of red pepper flakes optional
- 1 lb. peeled cleaned shrimp
Instructions
- Soak bamboo skewers in water for 30 mins before using.
- Mix together olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, and spices in a mixing bowl.
- Add the shrimp to the bowl and mix until coated. Let the shrimp sit for 30 minutes.
- After the shrimp has marinated, thread shrimp on pre-soaked skewers.
- Preheat the grill (or charcoal grill) to medium heat, oil the grates and grill the shrimps for 2-3 minutes per side until opaque.
- Transfer skewers to a plate and serve.
Notes
- Preheat the grill and oil the grates before adding the shrimp.
- If you are using wooden skewers, be sure to pre-soak them before threading the shrimp.
- Peel and devein the shrimp before marinating so it can soak up all the flavors.
- Be careful not to overcook the shrimp, they only need 2 to 3 minutes on each side. Otherwise, it will turn rubbery and chewy.
- Only flip the shrimp once. When they are ready to flip, they will release from the grill.
- You can also grill the shrimp in your favorite grill pan on the cooktop if the weather isn't nice or you don't want to fire the outdoor grill.
