Ground Beef Rice Bowl

This Ground Beef Rice Bowl features ground beef marinated with Shaoxing wine and cooked until crisp before combining with aromatic chilies, ginger, garlic, and onions. Ingredients

  • 1 cup ground beef
  • 3 tbsp. neutral cooking oil generic cooking oil
  • rice freshly steamed, for serving
marinating sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • dash white pepper
  • 1 tbsp. Shaoxing wine or cooking wine
side ingredients
  • 6 to 8 green chili pepper cut into small circles(depending on how spicy you want it to be, fresh, long
  • 2 red chili peppers cut into small circles, fresh
  • 1/2 red onion finely chopped, middle size
  • 2 garlic finely chopped, cloves
  • 1 thumb ginger
  • 1/4 tsp. salt or as needed
  • 1 tbsp. soy sauce light
  • 1/2 tsp. black vinegar
  • 1 tsp. sesame oil

Instructions

  1. Marinating ground beef with Shaoxing wine, salt, and pepper. Set aside for 10 minutes.
  2. Prepare all the other side ingredients during this process.
  3. Add oil to a pan and fry the minced beef until crispy and slightly golden brown. Keep string and be patient. This may take several minutes.
  4. Remove the beef and leave the oil. Fry all the aromatics, including chili peppers, scallion, red onion, garlic, and ginger, until aromatic.
  5. Return beef. Add salt, light soy sauce and vinegar. Drizzle some sesame oil. Mix well.
  6. To serve, pour the ground chili beef on your freshly steamed rice. And serve hot!

Notes

  • Adjust the number of chili peppers to control the spiciness according to your preference.
