Ingredients
- 1 pound ground chicken
- ¼ cup whole wheat breadcrumbs
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- ¼ cup finely chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- whole wheat hamburger buns
- lettuce, tomato, onion, avocado optional, for garnish
Instructions
- First, in a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, chopped onion, minced garlic, parsley, dried oregano, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly combined.
- Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty. You can adjust the size and thickness of the patties according to your preference.
- Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Place the chicken patties in the skillet and cook for about 5 to 6 minutes on each side, or until the patties are cooked through and reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- While the patties are cooking, you can toast the hamburger buns in a toaster or on a griddle for a few minutes until lightly golden.
- Once the patties are cooked, remove them from the skillet and let them rest for a couple of minutes.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a chicken patty on the bottom half of each bun. Top with lettuce, tomato, onion, or any other desired garnishes.
- Finally, add the top bun. Serve!
