Ground Turkey Lettuce Wrap Recipe

I love all the goodies in these ground turkey lettuce wraps. Water chestnuts, sugar snap peas, cilantro, sesame oil and more, all wrapped up in a cup of butter lettuce.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup onion diced
  • 1/4 tsp salt or to taste
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper or to taste
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger grated
  • 8 oz can water chestnuts drained and diced
  • 1 cup sugar snap peas sliced on an angle
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 2 green onions diced, for garnish
  • 1 tbsp cilantro fresh, chopped, for garnish
  • 1 head bibb or butter lettuce leaves carefully pulled off the head and washed

  1. Preheat a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add in sesame oil, onion and ground turkey. Season with salt and pepper. As meat cooks, break apart with spatula.
  2. Once meat is fully cooked, add in garlic, ginger, water chestnuts and sugar snap peas. Cook 2 minutes until it becomes fragrant. Stir in soy sauce, hoisin sauce and rice vinegar. Cook another 2-3 minutes.
  3. Divide meat mixture into 4 equal portions and serve with lettuce leaves. Garnish with green onion and cilantro, if desired.
