Guava Margarita
The Guava Margarita blends tequila or mezcal with guava nectar, fresh lime juice, agave nectar, and orange liqueur to create a tropical twist on the classic cocktail. Coarse salt or Tajin rim adds an extra layer of flavor. Shaken with ice and served cold, this refreshing drink balances sweetness, citrus brightness, and the smoky or sharp notes of the base spirit. It can be garnished with guava or lime wedges for presentation.
Ingredients
- 2 ounces tequila (or mezcal)
- 2 ounces guava nectar (or 2 fresh guavas, pureed and strained)
- 3/4 ounces lime juice freshly squeezed
- 1/2 ounce agave nectar (or simple syrup)
- 1/2 ounce orange liqueur (triple sec)
- ice cubes
- coarse salt for garnish on rim, or Tajin
Instructions
- Rub the rim of a glass with a lime wedge, then dip in coarse salt or tajin; set aside.
- Add the tequila, guava nectar, lime juice, agave, and triple sec to a cocktail shaker. Fill the shaker with ice cubes, seal and shake to chill.
- Strain into the prepared glass filled with ice. Garnish with a wedge of guava or lime and serve.
Notes
- Serve immediately for the best fresh flavor from the juices.
- You can prepare the cocktail mix ahead and store in the fridge for up to 24 hours, shaking before serving over ice.
- Freeze the prepared mix in ice cube trays to make frozen guava margaritas by thawing and blending before serving.
