Gyoza Dipping Sauce

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Regular soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp mirin
  • 2 tbsp sake
  • 2 tsp granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • ¼ tsp Japanese chili oil la-yu or ra-yu, add more if you like spicy

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan over low heat, combine 2 tbsp regular soy sauce, 2 tbsp mirin, 2 tbsp sake, and 2 tsp granulated sugar.
  2. Stir and cook until the sugar dissolves, about 1-2 minutes. Do not let it come to a boil.
  3. Remove the pan from heat and place in a heat-safe bowl. Let cool for 10 minutes.
  4. Add the 2 tbsp rice vinegar and ¼ tsp Japanese chili oil.
  5. Stir until combined. Pour into individual dipping bowls and serve.
