This hearty Smoked Ham Hocks and Cabbage dish is perfect for a Saturday evening at home. The ham hocks simmer in a slow cooker and the cabbage is added during the final hour until everything is deliciously moist and tender.

Ingredients

  • 1 /2 pound ham diced
  • 3 talks celery diced
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 1 bell pepper diced
  • 1 tablespoon garlic minced
  • 2 cups water or more if needed
  • 1 pound green cabbage chopped
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • optional dill for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cut the ham into small cubes, and then place them into a slow cooker.
  2. Add the celery, onions, bell pepper, and garlic.
  3. Pour in the water and cover the slow cooker with the lid.
  4. Cook on high for 4 hours.
  5. After 4 hours, add the cabbage and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Cook for an additional hour. Serve and enjoy!
