Ingredients

  • 1 (8 ounce) crescent roll dough refrigerated, canned, or crescent rolls
  • 1 ½ cups ham cooked, diced, about 7 ounces
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese grated
  • 6 egg
  • 2 cups milk (I use 2% milk)
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste
  • green onion chopped, optional garnish, sliced

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Spray a 13-inch x 9-inch baking dish with cooking spray and set aside.
  2. Unroll crescent dough and spread in the bottom of the prepared dish.
  3. Place diced ham on top of crescent rolls. Sprinkle with cheddar cheese.
  4. In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs and milk. Add salt and pepper, to taste.
  5. Pour egg mixture over ham and cheese.
  6. Bake, uncovered, for 35 – 40 minutes, or until eggs are set. Slice into squares.
  7. Garnish with fresh chives just before serving!

Notes

  • Assemble the casserole the night before and refrigerate up to 8 hours before baking for convenience.
  • Store leftover casserole in the refrigerator for up to 2 days or freeze for up to 2 months wrapped tightly.
  • Reheat baked casserole in a 350°F oven for about 20 minutes until warmed through; cover with foil if it browns too quickly.
  • Use a crescent dough sheet without perforations, or pinch regular crescent rolls together to form a sheet.
  • Substitute diced ham with sautéed vegetables for a vegetarian option; cook vegetables first to avoid excess moisture.
  • Variations include using bacon or adding hash browns instead of crescent dough or ham for different flavors and textures.
