Ham Fried Rice
Ham Fried Rice combines diced ham, mixed vegetables, and leftover cooked rice with eggs and seasonings to create a classic stir-fried dish. The use of refrigerated, cooked rice helps prevent clumping during stir-fry. With garlic powder and salt adjusting the flavor, and green onions adding freshness, the dish offers a balance of savory notes and a satisfying texture from the ham and vegetables.
Ingredients
- 2 lices ham 8 oz
- 2 cups mixed vegetables frozen
- 3 egg
- 3 ticks green onion
- 5 cups rice leftover and refrigerated, cooked
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon salt (add salt to your taste)
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil ( ½ tablespoon for stir fry ham and ½ tablespoons for stir fry rice)
Instructions
- Wash and cut 3 sticks of green onion.
- Then, cut 2 slices, 8oz of ham into cubes.
- Crack 3 eggs into a bowl.
- Beat the eggs with a fork until it is well mixed.
- Pour ½ tablespoon of vegetable oil into the wok. Then, turn on medium small fire.
- Add 2 cups of frozen mixed vegetables into the wok. Stir fry it for 1-2 minutes.
- After that, add the cut ham from step 2 into the wok.
- Keep stir frying for 1-2 minutes. Then, set it aside.
- Pour ½ tablespoon of vegetable oil into the wok. Add 5 cups of cooked leftover rice, stir fry and break down the rice to prevent it coming together.
- Slowly pour the beaten eggs from step 4. Keep stir frying the rice and adding the eggs, to make sure the rice is covered with eggs.
- The following, add ½ teaspoon of salt and ½ teaspoon of garlic powder. Stir fry the rice and mix the seasoning well.
- When the rice is ready, add the cooked mixed vegetable and ham from step 8. Stir fry and mix the rice, ham and vegetables well.
- Lastly, add the cut green onion from step 1. Stir fry it a little bit and turn off fire.
Notes
- Use a non-stick pan to reduce oil usage and prevent sticking during cooking.
- Stir-fry ham and mixed vegetables separately before combining with rice to preserve texture.
- Use leftover refrigerated rice and break it apart well during stir-fry to avoid clumps.
- Make sure all rice grains are coated with beaten eggs for even flavor and texture.
