Ham Stratta
Leftover holiday ham becomes a delicious breakfast or brunch in this easy Ham Strata. Yield: 1 (8x8) pan (Double the recipe to fill a 9x13 pan.)
Ingredients
- 1 ½ c milk
- 6 egg
- 1 Tbsp Dijon mustard
- 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp salt (depending on how salty your ham is)
- ½ tsp paprika
- 1/4 tsp black pepper ground
- 7 c bread cubes any type, slightly stale
- 1 ½ c ham chopped, cooked
- 1 green bell pepper diced
- 1 c cheddar cheese shredded, sharp
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350F.
- In a medium bowl or 4c liquid measure, whisk together milk, eggs, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, onion, salt, paprika, and pepper. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, toss together the breadcrumbs, ham, 1/2 c cheese, and green pepper.
- Pour the liquid mixture over the bread mixture, mixing to coat. Let the mixture stand for 5 minutes for the bread to absorb the liquid.
- Pour the mixture into a greased 8x8 baking dish. Top with the remaining cheese.
- Bake, uncovered, 40-45 minutes, until firm in the center.
- Remove from the oven and let stand, uncovered, 5-10 minutes before serving.
