Ingredients

Servings
  • 1 ½ c milk
  • 6 egg
  • 1 Tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp salt (depending on how salty your ham is)
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper ground
  • 7 c bread cubes any type, slightly stale
  • 1 ½ c ham chopped, cooked
  • 1 green bell pepper diced
  • 1 c cheddar cheese shredded, sharp

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350F.
  2. In a medium bowl or 4c liquid measure, whisk together milk, eggs, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, onion, salt, paprika, and pepper. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, toss together the breadcrumbs, ham, 1/2 c cheese, and green pepper.
  4. Pour the liquid mixture over the bread mixture, mixing to coat. Let the mixture stand for 5 minutes for the bread to absorb the liquid.
  5. Pour the mixture into a greased 8x8 baking dish. Top with the remaining cheese.
  6. Bake, uncovered, 40-45 minutes, until firm in the center.
  7. Remove from the oven and let stand, uncovered, 5-10 minutes before serving.
