Hashweh
Hashweh is a seasoned ground beef dish cooked with diced onions, pine nuts, and a seven-spice blend. The pine nuts add a subtle nutty crunch while the seasoning infuses the beef with aromatic warmth. It is served with parsley and can be enjoyed on its own or as a stuffing.
Ingredients
- ¼ cup olive oil
- 2 onion diced, large
- 1 pound ground beef 95% lean
- 1 tablespoon 7 spice seasoning
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ¼ cup pine nuts plus more for topping
- parsley
Instructions
- In a medium size pan over medium heat, heat the olive oil and cook the onions until soft and translucent, about 10 minutes.
- Add the beef and cook until the beef is browned, about 8-10 minutes. Fold in the pine nuts, then season with 7 Spice and salt.
- Use as stuffing for a designated recipe, or sprinkle chopped parsley serve on its own with pita bread, if desired.
Notes
- Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
- Freeze Hashweh in an airtight container for up to 3 months.
