Hashweh

Hashweh is a seasoned ground beef dish cooked with diced onions, pine nuts, and a seven-spice blend. The pine nuts add a subtle nutty crunch while the seasoning infuses the beef with aromatic warmth. It is served with parsley and can be enjoyed on its own or as a stuffing.

Description

Hashweh begins by sautéing diced onions in olive oil until translucent, softening their flavor. Ground lean beef is added and cooked until browned, ensuring no pink remains. Toasted pine nuts are folded in for texture and a rich nutty flavor. The beef mixture is seasoned with a blend known as Seven Spice and salt, which provides a warm, complex spice profile.

This dish can be served simply garnished with chopped fresh parsley alongside pita bread, offering a flavorful meat-based accompaniment. It can also be used as a filling or stuffing component in other recipes, leveraging its rich seasoning and texture.

Hashweh stores well in the refrigerator for up to 5 days and can be frozen for up to 3 months, making it convenient to prepare in advance or preserve leftovers.
