Healthy Buffalo Chicken Dip
The Healthy Buffalo Chicken Dip blends reduced-fat cream cheese, Greek yogurt, and buffalo wing sauce with shredded chicken, garlic, and spices, topped with melted cheddar cheese. Baked until bubbly and golden, this dip balances creamy, spicy, and savory flavors and textures. It’s ideal as a snack or appetizer served alongside vegetables, crackers, or chips.
Ingredients
- 1 package neufchatel cheese 8 ounces, reduced fat cream cheese, softened
- 1 .3 oz container Greek yogurt nonfat or 2%, about ½ cup
- ¼ cup Frank's RedHot Buffalo Wings Sauce (add more to taste)
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 8 ounces chicken breast about 2 cups, shredded, cooked
- ¼ cup scallions sliced
- ¾ cup cheddar cheese can substitute other cheese like Colby Jack, Monterey Jack or mozzarella, shredded
Optional toppings:

- blue cheese crumbled, sliced, respectively
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F.
- Mix the softened cheese, Greek yogurt, hot sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and pepper together in a large bowl until smooth.
- Stir in the shredded chicken and scallions.
- Transfer the dip to an 8x8-inch square baking dish, oval baking dish or round pie pan. Sprinkle the cheddar cheese on top.
- Bake 15-20 minutes until cheese is melted and dip is bubbly. Remove from oven and garnish with crumbled blue cheese, scallions, and hot sauce, if desired. Serve with crackers, chip, celery and/or carrot sticks.
Notes
- Adjust hot sauce amounts to control the spiciness level to your preference.
- Adding crumbled blue cheese on top is optional but enhances classic buffalo flavor.
- You can assemble this dip up to 2 days ahead and keep it refrigerated until baking.
- For longer storage, freeze dip in a tightly covered freezer-safe baking dish for up to 3 months.
- Thaw frozen dip overnight in the refrigerator before baking as directed.
- Store any leftovers in an airtight container refrigerated for 3-4 days and reheat in microwave or oven until hot.
