Healthy Refried Bean Dip (Vegetarian, Gluten-Free)

This easy Refried Bean Dip is super tasty and easy to make! It's a great vegetarian, gluten-free appetizer or snack option that will be a hit at your next party. Plus, it only requires 7 simple ingredients and 5 minutes of prep!

Ingredients

  • 4 oz reduced fat cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup 2% plain Greek yogurt (227g)
  • 1 (16oz) can refried beans
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1/4 cup salsa
  • 3/4 cup Mexican shredded cheese (84g)
  • sliced green onions to garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a 8x8-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  2. Add cream cheese to a medium bowl and beat with a hand mixer until smooth. Add yogurt, refried beans and the taco seasoning mix and beat until combined. Then stir in the salsa.
  3. Transfer to the prepared dish and sprinkle evenly with the cheese.
  4. Bake for 25 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Broil for 1-2 minutes at the end if desired.
  5. Garnish with sliced green onions (or toppings of choice) and serve warm with tortilla chips.

Notes

  • To make vegan bean dip: use dairy-free cream cheese, greek yogurt and shredded cheese.
