Healthy Vegan Fruit Dip [AKA Sweet Hummus]

This vegan fruit dip is rich, sweet, incredibly delicious, and secretly healthy! No one will ever guess the main ingredient.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups chickpeas cooked or canned
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened applesauce
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice approx. half a large lemon
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons unrefined coconut sugar or brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Optional Dippers
  • sliced melon, pineapple, apple slices, strawberries, banana, grapes, raspberries, blueberries
  • pretzels, marshmallows, cookies, graham crackers

Instructions

  1. Add all the ingredients to a blender or the bowl of your food processor and process until smooth.
  2. Serve with your favourite fruits or other dippers.

Notes

  • Use chickpeas with no added salt. This is a dessert after all. :)
  • Chickpeas that are cooked from dried will be creamier compared to canned, but use whatever you have available.
  • Use a high-speed blender for ultimate creaminess and smoothest texture.
  • Once blended smooth, taste, and adjust for sweetness if needed.
