High Protein Pomegranate Smoothie (Dairy-free)

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup pomegranate arils
  • 2 tbs coconut milk
  • ½ cup hemp milk 
  • 1 tbs honey
  • ⅛ cup collagen powder
  • 4 Ice cubes
  • ½ cup strawberries optional

Instructions

  1. In a powerful blender, add all the ingredients.
  2. Process for 1-3 minutes until all the seeds are dissolved.
  3. Pour into a jar, top with your favorite add-ons, and enjoy!

Notes

  • Every blender is unique in how well it processes ingredients. Pomegranate seeds can be tricky. I use a Vitamix and need to blend for about one minute.
  • If you have a less powerful blender, you need to process the smoothie longer so that it comes out creamy and not chunky.
  • If you want to add some berries, opt for a ½ cup of frozen strawberries to maintain the color of the smoothie. If doing this, you’ll want to add in ¼ cup of water. With these additions, the recipe makes one super large smoothie or two smaller ones.
  • In a pinch, a quality pomegranate juice will work in place of the arils!
