Homemade Applesauce

Fresh applesauce laced with warm cinnamon. Enjoy warn, chilled or with one of our 10+ variations.

Ingredients

  • 4 apples , peeled, cored and chopped into 1-inch pieces
  • 1/2 cup apple juice
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients into a medium saucepan, cover and simmer over medium-low heat for 15-20 minutes or until the apples are soft and start to break down.
  2. Transfer the mixture to a blender or food processor and blend until it reaches the desired consistency.
  3. Enjoy warm or chill. The mixture will thicken upon chilling.

Notes

  • Note: For a super thick sauce, place in a fine-mesh sieve and allow liquids to pass through. Apples will vary in terms of liquid volumes, so this might be necessary if used in other recipes or just personal preference.
