Homemade Bisquick Mix

With only 4 ingredients, this homemade bisquick mix is a versatile baking staple that combines flour, baking powder, salt, and butter.

Ingredients

HOMEMADE BISQUICK MIX
  • 6 cups all purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons baking powder
  • ½ tablespoon salt*
  • 1 cup butter (I use salted butter) cut into small cubes
*If using unsalted butter then add 1 tablespoon of salt.
EASY CHEDDAR BISCUITS
  • 2 cups Bisquick Mix
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese (or cheese of choice)
  • ½ cup + 2 tablespoons of milk

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl whisk together flour, baking powder and salt until well combined, cut in butter and mix until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
CHEDDAR BISCUITS
  1. Pre-heat oven to 425F/220C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl mix together the biscuit mix and cheese, add the milk and mix just until the flour has been combined, it will be lumpy. Drop by heaping tablespoons onto a parchment paper lined baking sheet about 2 inches apart.
  3. Bake for approximately 8-12 minutes or until the biscuits are a golden brown. Serve warm or room temperature. They can be brushed with melted butter before serving. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Store homemade bisquick made with butter in an airtight container or mason jar in the refrigerator for up to 10 days.
  • For longer storage, place in a freezer safe container and store frozen for up to 3 months or 4 months.
