Homemade Bisquick

No need for store-bought baking mix when you can make your own at home with just five simple ingredients! Homemade Bisquick is simple, easy, and super convenient to have in your pantry for quick pancakes, biscuits, and more.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons cold butter

Instructions

  1. Combine flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Mix.
  2. Use a microplane, or the fine side of a grater, and grate the butter into the flour mixture.
  3. Toss the butter in the flour mixture and work with a fork until the butter is incorporated into the mix.

  • Combine this mix with 2/3 cup milk and 1 tablespoon vegetable oil.
  • Mix to make a dough. Drop 8 rounded spoonfuls on a baking sheet.
  • Bake at 450˚F for 10-12 minutes or until cooked through.
  • Combine this mix with 1 cup of milk, 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, and 2 eggs.
  • Pour 1/4 cup on a hot greased skillet or griddle.
  • Cook for about 90 seconds, then flip and finish cooking on the other side.
  • Combine this mix with 2/3 cup milk.
  • Drop spoonfuls into boiling soup.
  • Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 10 minutes.
  • Cover and continue to cook for 10 additional minutes.
