Homemade Bread Stuffing is an easy side dish to make if you don't want to stuff a turkey! A few ingredients combine to make it flavorful and not too soggy!

Ingredients
- 12 cups bread about 3 pounds - sliced thin
- 6 slices Bacon cooked
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 4 stalks celery diced
- 1 onion diced
- 3 carrots diced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon pepper
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup broth chicken or veggie
Instructions
- Slice bread into strips that are ¼ wide and about 2 inches long. Spread the bread in one even layer on two sheet trays.
- Bake at 375ºF for about 10 minutes to dry out the bread.
- In a large saucepan, cook the bacon until it's just crisp. Remove it from the pan and chop.
- Add the butter to the bacon fat in the pan.
- Add the veggies, salt, and pepper. Cook until soft, about 5-8 minutes.
- Toss the dried bread, chopped bacon, and sauteed veggies together.
- Whisk together the broth and the eggs. Pour the mixture over the bread crumb mixture and toss to combine.
- Pour into a 9x13 baking dish.
- Cover with foil and bake for 15 minutes. Uncover and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until golden brown.
