Homemade Hawaiian Pizza

Ingredients

  • 1 pound pizza dough homemade or store-bought
  • 1/2 cup Pizza Sauce
  • 2 cups shredded Mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup cubed ham or sliced
  • 1/2 cup pineapple chunks fresh or canned
  • 1/4 cup cooked and crumbled bacon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 500°F (260°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while preheating.
  2. On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a 12-inch circle. Carefully transfer the dough onto a pizza pan or a pizza peel lightly dusted with cornmeal if using a pizza stone.
  3. Spread 1/2 cup pizza sauce evenly across the surface of the dough, leaving a 1/2-inch border around the edges.
  4. Sprinkle 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce.
  5. Distribute 1/2 cup cubed ham, 1/2 cup pineapple chunks, and 1/4 cup cooked and crumbled bacon evenly on top of the mozzarella.
  6. Bake the pizza on the preheated pizza stone or in the oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and slightly browned.

Notes

  • Use the classic recipe or try kicking it up a notch!
  • Drizzle hot honey over the pizza right after baking for a sweet and spicy addition.
  • Add thinly sliced jalapeños for a fiery kick.
  • Use BBQ sauce in place of traditional pizza sauce.
  • Thinly sliced red, white, or sweet onions can always be tossed on, or try caramelized onions for a treat.
