Ingredients
- 1/2 cup yellow cornmeal
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 16 ounces hot dogs
- vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- Fill a medium-sized pot with enough oil to cover the bottom 4 inches of the pot in oil.
- Heat oil to 350 degrees.
- In a medium bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder.
- In a small bowl, whisk together milk and egg.
- Add liquid mixture to dry mixture and stir until well blended.
- Cut hot dogs into thirds.
- Blot hot dogs with paper towels until they are dry.
