Homemade Pizza Sauce

Ingredients

  • 6 oz tomato paste
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 ½ tsp oregano
  • ¾ tsp rosemary
  • ½ tsp sage
  • ¼ tsp marjoram
  • ¼ tsp salt

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Simply whisk all of the ingredients together in a small bowl. Assemble with the pizza as necessary.

  • I mix canned tomato paste with water and olive oil to make a more oil-based pizza sauce. 
  • This recipe would be absolutely delicious with fresh rosemary, though dried rosemary works just as well. 
  • I use rubbed sage, however you can use whatever form of sage you have on hand (even fresh)
  • Marjoram and oregano are vaguely similar to one another in flavor, though its profile is a bit milder.
  • If you don’t have tomato paste, you can use canned tomato sauce in a pinch. 
  • Feel free to use fresh herbs if you have them on hand/can find them! Chop them up very finely to stir them into the sauce.
