Homemade Potato Wedges

Perfectly seasoned homemade potato wedges with a crispy, breaded exterior and fluffy interior - better than any restaurant version!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon celery salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 Russet potatoes unpeeled but scrubbed
  • 1 egg beaten
  • vegetable oil for frying
  • ranch dressing, sour cream, or ketchup for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat oil to 375 degrees.
  2. Mix flour and spices in a shallow dish.
  3. Cut potatoes into 1/2-inch thick wedges.
  4. Dip the potato wedges into the beaten egg, then into the flour mixture.
  5. Deep fry in hot oil until golden brown, about 5 to 7 minutes.
  6. Serve with ranch dressing, dipping sauce, ketchup, or sour cream.

Notes

  • 🌡️Do not let your grease get too hot or the potatoes will burn.
  • ⏲️Shake off excess flour from the potatoes because too much flour may make the potatoes burn.
  • ⏲️Cook the potatoes right away. If you do not, the potato slices may brown and look unappealing.
